The picture visible is from Professor Heffron’s 2nd edition of Energy Law and Policy, which sold more than 15k copies in English alone.

It is a book translated into multiple languages inc. Chinese, Persian, Italian, and Spanish.

Professor Heffron is the world’s most cited energy law and policy scholar. His work is internationally recognised having been published in multiple languages and he has been invited as Visiting Professor globally (including Colombia, University of the West Indies, US, France, Greece, UK, Mozambique, Nepal, Indonesia and Australia).

At the core of Professor Heffron’s work is a principle-based approach that centres on justice. Too often energy law has focused on driving profit, revenue and investment and not focused on a more balanced relationship between the different stakeholders of an energy activity, project or contract. Professor Heffron’s work has been published in the top international energy law journals in the world (the Journal of Energy and Natural Resource Law, and the Journal of World Energy Law and Business) where it is the most read and cited.

Professor Heffron’s work in energy law and policy has seen him awarded the prestigious European Commission Jean Monnet Chair in Energy and Natural Resource Law in 2016. He was the youngest ever recipient to be awarded this in the legal discipline and one of the first in energy law. This award is for both teaching and research, and Professor Heffron was instrumental in developing curricula at energy law institutes in Queen Mary University of London and the University of Dundee that reflect the energy transition.
